A Tale of Two Cabins

The Maple cabin is nestled among the trees in a small resort community on the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. It was purchased by Lisa’s step-grandparents who later passed it down to her stepmother. The larger of the two cabins, it serves as basecamp for family-style dinners full of warmth, conversation, and togetherness.

“I realized on a visit in 2014 that this place was incredibly special and full of visual finds. So, I started photographing it, not thinking at the time I would eventually paint these scenes.”
