In 2023 the Potomac Chapter of ASLA established the Emerging Leader Award to recognize an individual early in their career who has made significant contributions to the profession of landscape architecture by demonstrating exceptional leadership in their community, their local ASLA Chapter, and/or their place of employment.

The Emerging Leader Award is intended to be an annual award specifically designed to recognize and foster leadership in early-career landscape architecture professionals. The selected candidate will receive a yearlong mentorship with a Potomac Chapter Fellow and will be honored at the Potomac Chapter Awards Gala. In addition, the selected candidates will receive a stipend of $1,000 which can be used to support payment of ASLA dues, and/or attendance at the ASLA annual conference or for other ASLA events.
