Research and Conservation
Landscape architects provide solutions for environmental challenges by providing new research on the habitats surrounding them and by protecting and restoring local ecosystems. In addition to creative thinking and artistic ability, this profession requires a broad knowledge of the biological sciences in order to conserve native species and plants in the area. Maintaining greener infrastructure helps conserve land resources such as water, soil, or minerals and promotes the concept that ecosystem function, biodiversity, and the health of human communities are inextricably linked.
